So What Are Your Electric Car Plans?

I was watching the news the other night and one of the stories mentioned how there is a chance that the planet could run out of oil as early as 2080. That probably won t be in my lifetime but it certainly brings up a very valid point when it comes to future transportation issues. I am thinking that my grandchildren better have some electric car plans because there won t be any gasoline for them to use. I m no expert but my understanding is that the oil supply is certainly finite and alternative energy sources isn t just a nice campaign promise it is something we desperately have to start considering if we are going to continue to keep our cars on the road and our planes in the sky.

I started making my electric car plans when gas went over $3 a gallon. I think a lot of people started making their electric car plans when gas went over $3 a gallon and it only makes sense. It only makes sense that the same society that would buy all the duct tape in the Home Depot because of some non-specific terrorist chemical threat would start to make electric car plans when gas got to $3 a gallon. People these days panic way too easy. Relax folks we have until 2080. It isn t like the Thanksgiving trip to Aunt Sue s house in Des Moines needs to be put on hold.

The Future Is Now

But seriously we do need to start making some electric car plans and we need to start making them now. The human race is very good at using up the non-renewable natural resources the earth has to offer and it may be time to own up for our lack of environmental responsibility. We need electric car plans so that our grandchildren, and indeed 3 and 4 generations from now, have the same chance at a decent standard of living that we have. Imagine the world with no powerful vehicles to take our children to school, move the earth to build our homes, or fly us all over the world to get business done and to keep our planet thriving. If we are not careful the future could be very bleak for the future generations.

On the other hand it could be better for them than it is for us. Imagine a renewable energy source that is clean, safe, reusable, and affordable for everyone. People would no longer have to spend a huge chunk of their weekly paycheck on fuel just so they can get to work. It could be wonderful but it can only be wonderful if we start making our electric car plans right now and plan to take care of our future generations.
