The Electric Utility Vehicle Is A Familiar Friend
My best friend and I have been friends for over 15 years now and we have played a lot of golf in our day. It used to be a three time a week habit with us until we started to get married, not to each other, and then started to live the lives of responsible adults. One of my favorite golfing memories was the day we spent an entire 18 hole round, almost 4 and a half hours, describing our perfect golf cart. Black with flames painted on the front, a small fridge under the seat, a booming stereo in the back, big bright headlights, and of course a horn. We even left room for the clubs. It was awesome. A few years later someone tried to sell me an electric utility vehicle and I had no idea what they were talking about. When they showed me an electric utility vehicle it was a black golf cart! I was this close, this close!
I didn t buy the electric utility vehicle and my best friend still hates me for that. Well, he doesn t hate me, he just makes me pay for the cart whenever we go golfing now. Luckily we don t golf as much as we used to. But I was pretty floored when the golf cart was described to me as an electric utility vehicle. Then I thought about it and the whole thing seemed so perfect that I don t know why I didn t think of it before. I had seen television shows where farmers were surveying their fields in golf carts and people were traveling around Hollywood back lots in golf carts. It only made sense to make an industry out of it and give it an important sounding name.
Over The River And Through The Woods
My first realization that all golf carts are electric utility vehicles came to me soon after my introduction to that beautiful black electric utility vehicle and I started to think about where my golf game has taken me. I don t mean taken me as far as the different places I have played golf, I mean taken me as far as where on the course I have had to go to find my ball. Up hills, down hills, along the sides of small creeks, and even across busy streets (don t ask) I have to admit that a golf cart really is an electric utility vehicle capable of hauling anything that can fit in it anywhere it needs to go.
So now that we have the weight of responsibility around our necks like so many huge weights it is doubtful that my friend and I will ever realize our dream of a tricked out golf cart with the fridge in the seat and the booming stereo in the back. But I tell you what, after thinking about what those electric utility vehicles are capable of I will never look at any of them the same way ever again.
